On January 21 this blog post announced that Cisco is joining The Internet Society for World IPv6 Day. On June 8, 2011, the Industry will see a 24-hour "test flight" when AAAA records make sites IPv6 accessible to assess readiness and prepare services for IPv6.

To help prepare and for this event, we are launching this World IPv6 Day - IPv6 Transition community, as a source of knowledge for IPv6-related topics, and for you to ask questions, make comments, and create documents about IPv6 transition and World IPv6 Day. We are also using the ipv6 tag for IPv6 related documents and threads in other communities.

All topics are welcome, including IPv4/v6 co-existence and integration, routing, address management, translation, tunneling, Firewalling, Security, DNS, MTU, network management, troubleshooting, and protocol stack issues. As a first example, see how to get started with IPv6.

Salman Asadullah, Joe Clarke, Carlos Pignataro, and Phillip Remaker.
