CSC Helps Teachers Without Borders
Cisco Support Community invites each of you to join Cisco in lending a hand to Teachers Without Borders. The non-profit connects teachers to information and each other to create local change on a global scale. The program is simple. Each time you TAG a discussion, document, video, blog we'll donate $1 to Teachers Without Borders. The program will run for 90 days or up to a maximum donation of $15,000 USD, whichever comes first.
Why are tags important? Tags are a way of categorizing and making content easily searchable. As a rule of thumb, tag content with words or phrases you might use to search for it later. Over time, as users apply the same tags to various types of content, it becomes easier to locate that content since it is grouped into a category represented by the tag. Now when you do, you'll also be helping Teachers Without Borders. We'll track our progress here in the community and on Facebook, so you'll always know how we're doing.
Let's continue to do what the Cisco Support Community does best—help others.
Letter From Teachers Without Borders
Teachers Without Borders is immensely grateful to the Cisco Support Community for this fundraising initiative.
Research on teacher development and our own programs make it very clear that teachers - especially those in the developing world - must have a strong support network that provides the resources, training, tools, and colleagues they need in order to effectively support, engage, and inspire their students. Teachers Without Borders offers that support.
Our teacher professional development programs reach teachers throughout Sub-Saharan Africa, China, Mexico, Brazil, and Haiti. We work with teachers and education authorities and organizations around the world to enhance education by providing free courses, resources, and tools to help teachers learn, connect, collaborate, and create online, in schools or community centers, and in workshops and seminars. Since teachers are multipliers and pillars of strength in their schools and communities, support for a single teacher can foster the well-being of hundreds, even thousands, of learners and their communities.
This Cisco fundraising initiative will help us scale our key programs and build upon existing partnerships and past successes. By contributing to this initiative you are providing support for teacher professional development programs that have a lasting impact on hundreds of thousands of children and their communities.
Thank you for your support,
Teachers Without Borders

"Hello all….it’s that time again where we all can look outside our Community here at the Support Communtiy and work to help others around the world. Just like when we raised US$10K to help the survivors in Haiti this time we are going to raise US$15K to help Teachers without Borders. Teachers without Borders is a community much like ours here @ CSC where teachers around the world work together to make each other better and to learn from each other. Here’s their Mission statement:
“Teachers Without Borders connects teachers to information and each other to create local change on a global scale.”
We have all benefitted from a great teacher in our past that has helped us achieve our goals and everyone, no matter where they live, deserves this same opportunity. By simply tagging your posts within the Support Community we can raise this money that will go to support such a great cause.
“A world with well-trained, well-informed teachers is a world with smarter, healthier, wealthier, more peaceful individuals and societies.”
Please take an extra minute on each thread you start to add a tag or two and one dollar will be donated to Teachers without Borders. Let’s help them create local change on a global scale, after all, we are, the human network! Cheers!
