SCCUG - January 14th Meeting
Hello SCCUG and Happy 2016!
For the January SCCUG meeting, be sure to bring your laptop because we will be doing hands-on UCS!
This hands-on technical session will focus on Cisco Unified Computing System™ (Cisco UCS®) deployment and operations, starting with an overview of key architecture, features, and components.
You will learn how to configure and manage Cisco UCS servers with consolidated I/O for LAN and SAN connectivity, and how to virtualize server properties to enable simple and rapid mobility of server OS images between physical servers.
We will use the Cisco UCS Platform Emulator to cover initial system configuration, service profile creation, and server deployment.
You must bring a Windows or Mac laptop that is capable of running a virtual machine to participate in the workshop.
The lab will provide a complete installation of a new Cisco UCS from scratch, along with basic configuration of servers in a Boot-from-SAN configuration. You will be following the procedures required on day one of deployment of Cisco UCS, including:
• Initial Setup of Cisco UCS Domain and Fabric Interconnects
• Cisco UCS Manager Basic Setup and Pools, Policies, and Templates
• Creating Service Profiles and Templates
• Service Profile Association and Migration
It’s very likely that we will take all 2 hours of session and may stretch to February. Please be sure to arrive on time.
