callmanager servivability

Folks,

I have a centralized callmanager and have phones at one site which is remote connected by a T1.

My question is that is a user is on a call and the wan connection goes down would the connected call drop as the call control would drop? or would the call stay up if i am using H.323?

Hi,

It depends were you gateway is located, if the call goes out a gateway located at the remote office then the call stays up. If you are dialing out a centralized gateway then the call is lost. The CallManager is only doing call control for making a connection. After the connection is set up the CallManager steps out.
