i have soho 827 and i want to assign an ip with it's mac address to prevent changing ips

Hello,
you can achieve this by following the coniguration example given at "Configuring DHCP Static Mapping"
The MAC to IP mappings are listed in a text file, which can be on a TFTP server or in the router flash.

You can also do it locally without the text file.

A gotcha is the MAC address needs to be prepended with a 01. For Example-
client-identifier 0100.0f1f.50cd.55
