Cisco Network Assistant

I installed CNA and it works great except I can't get it to see 2 CAT 4006's on my network. The HTTP server has been made operational just like the other switches (2950's and 3550's) and they work fine. Just the 2 4006's won't join the Community, they are are seen though but I can't seem to find a log detailing why it won't connect. Any ideas??

Are you trying to connect to the switch side or the Sup side. I have noticed that you need to try and connect to the switch side.

I'm not following what you mean. Using the Cisco Network Assistant, I seem only to be able to right-click on the 4006 and then in the menu I can select from Device Manager, Add to Community, Properties, Telnet or Annotations.

I am having a similar issue, I have enabled the http server, did http auth local, created user names with priv of 15, gave vlan1 and ip and I am not able to ping or connect through cisco network assistant.

Have you found out why, or anyone else have any ideas?

Has there been a fix for this?

I'm running Network Assistant 5.3, and i have about 5 4006 with Sup-2. I can not get them adding.

Thanks for your time and help.

You can check CNA Help dialog - Contents tab, in Frequently Asked Questions, there is an entry "What devices are supported by Network Assistant?" - check the device models listed on the left column on the table - only those specific device models will be supported in that version of CNA. hopefully this will give some clue. If the "EXACT SAME" device model your are trying to connect to is listed there and you still cannot connect, then it could be a bug or connectivity issue.

That was the first thing I checked. There is litimed support for the 4006.

Still do not know how you get the 4006 switch into CNA?

I know these are going to sound like basic questions:

You're using a Supervisor Engine II-Plus or a Supervisor Engine II-Plus-TS?

Are you running an IOS later than 12.2(20)EWA?

If you enter http:///exec/show/module/CR into a browser, do you get a response?

They only have sup-II with the CATos. I have enabled CWI, but I don't get a page back for http:///exec/show/module/CR . Does Network Assistant Not support Sup-II ?

Thanks for your time and help.

Network Assistant supports only IOS-based supervisors. So, unfortunately, the Supervisor IIs are not supported by Network Assistant.
