CME CALL BLOCKING FAX

Unanswered Question
Feb 2nd, 2007

Hi, I have call manager express, I set up the call blocking:

login timeout 5 clear 23:00

after-hours block pattern 1 901

after-hours block pattern 2 9045

after-hours day Sun 01:00 23:50

after-hours day Mon 01:00 23:50

after-hours day Tue 01:00 23:50

after-hours day Wed 01:00 23:50

after-hours day Thu 01:00 23:50

after-hours day Fri 01:00 23:50

after-hours day Sat 01:00 23:50

i HAVE 7940 IP PHONES, 7912 AND 4 FXS PORTS

With 7940 ip phones i can override the call blocking with a PIN.

I have fax on the FXS ports, but i can?t call to 901 or 9045 from the fax!, so

How can i do exempt the FXS PORTS from the call blocking feature? OR Can i apply a PIN to the fax like 7940 ip phones?

THanks...

I have this problem too.

Hi cots,

it does not seem possible to have a mean to enter a PIN for analog phones, not even with the lastest "sccp feature mode".

Actually I'm surprised to learn that FXS ports are subject to PIN blocking, but I haven't tried that myself.

I can think of two way to workaround this limitation;

1) switch to a COR-based configuration to limit calls. The main problem with this approach, is that COR is fixed and do not support a PIN. COR is described at;

2) be creative, and introduce a special prefix to be dialed before the number. Then, you will have to match the specific phones that are using this prefix, and strip it before calling. All this is done with dial-peers. See:
