3750 EMI and SMI mixed mode?

Hi Guys,I have a question about 3750?

1.Can I use them in EMI and SMI mix mode?

2.If OK, what happening if I put EMI switch as Master,the other SMI as slave? Is Auto Upgrade IOS working ?

If the EMI is master it should upgrade the code if you have the " boot auto-copy-sw" in your running config for the master.

2.Sorry maybe this is stupid question, do I need to purchase additional license to upgrade each of SMI switch to EMI switch?

Hello Peng,

There is no hardware upgrade required for SMI to EMI.. its just that you will need to upgrade the software, with licenses.. There is a basic upgrade license in Cisco which you might need to procure.. If i'm not wrong, the part code is CD-3750-EMI.. Get in touch with your Cisco partner to know more on this !!!
