CCNA Labs/Simulations available?

Unanswered Question
Feb 6th, 2007

Hello everyone.

Are there any viable solutions out there that provide good simulations or labs for CCNA certification?

here is the story. I have worked with Cisco for about 6 years now, mostly with switches and some routers (1750, 2610). I have not used Cisco much lately (long story), but recently I have wanted to get back into it.

With that, I have decided to pursue my CCNA and probably my CCNP.

What I was looking for was recommendations for simulations or labs that are available. I would prefer to learn by doing as well as with a book.

Does anyone have a lab that will help with routers? switches? VLAN's etc?

I have seen the one from Cisco: Cisco CCNA Network Simulator.

The other was the Netsim from boson.

Any other good ones that come recommended?

Thank you.

TCG

I have this problem too.

Hi friend,

Have a look at "Cisco 7200 Simulator" http://www.ipflow.utc.fr/index.php/Cisco_7200_Simulator

It is freeware and able to boot a real IOS (!) on a Linux or Windows PC. This will give you the full set of IOS commands and features within the IOS. You even can interconnect several of these routers (Serial or FastEthernet) to get a small network.

Make sure you have enough memory and CPU power on the host machine.

Hope this helps! Please rate all posts.
