i have one branch office connected thru VPN to the main office over ADSL.Now i have a high speed dedicated connectivity to main office.

i have made a route for the high speed connection on cisco 2811 router which is working fine and also the vpn connection over ADSL is also present with a higher administrative distance. Is ther any way to make this low speed connection as backup route when the high speed connection go down...both the sides i am using cisco 2811 routers.i have put static routes for both the connection.

I have this problem too.

Hi you have to configure something called floating static route, in this way you configure one sataic route normaly and another static route with higher preference to the backup link, and automaticaly when the primary link fails the primary route will be removed from the routing table becasue the next hop will be unreachable and the backup route will be used.
