Hi,

To start, I suggest you focus on what occurred in between the time that all was working and the time that this error message was generated. That will probably get you to the source of the problem and then the resolution.

If the Unity partner server is no longer available, but another Exchange server is available, you can change the partner server via the Message Store Configuration Wizard (accessible via the Cisco Unity Tools Depot).

If you did not assign permissions for the different Exchange server to the Unity service accounts when you installed Unity, you will need to re-run Permissions Wizard (also accessible via the Cisco Unity Tools Depot). Note that you need to logon to the Unity server as a Domain Administrator account that has Exchange Full Administrator rights in order to successfully set all permissions required.

If you have recently changed the "unitymessagestoresvc" account from an Exchange View Only permissions to Exchange Full Admin or Exchange Admin, this is the problem.

If none of the above lead you to resolution, then this link will probably help you: http://cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/voicesw/ps2237/products_tech_note09186a00800949dc.shtml

Good luck!

Thanks for the tips. In the end we rebooted the server and the problem resolved. However we continue to monitor and are trying to plan for an upgrade of unity 3.1 to 4.x

There is no other partnerm, standalone server was working before. not able to see any error messages in event viewer.
