Solved: Privilege Mode Password Recovery

Hello all,

When using the cisco password recovery instructions (changing register, etc) this should not effect the current configuration, correct?

Also, does anyone know any methods to recover the password w/o rebooting the router?

Your start-up config is not affected but you have to be careful not to accidentally overwrite it. Just follow the recovery procedure for your router/switch closely.

There is no way to recover the password without rebooting unless you suddenly remember it :-)
