connecting 2851 routers' E1 ports back-to-back

I have two 2851 routers with VWIC2-2MFT-T1/E1 cards. before deploying them on field,I want to simulate E1 links at the lab. there are regular rj45 ports on E1 cards.

Can I connect routers back-to-back using E1 modules (if ethernet cable would do the job,how should I terminate pins on RJ 45 connectors?)

tx in advance for any help

Hi,

You need an E1 cross cable which you need to manually crimp.

Router 1 Router 2

Pin 1 connects to Pin 4

Pin 2 connects to Pin 5

Pin 4 connects to Pin 1

Pin 5 connects to Pin 2
