Our provider send caller id to us as a 10 digit string. Is it possible for me to mangle that string to show a 3-3-4 format?

Yes I believe a translation-rule can do that. Will give that a check against my national dial plan - that is variable lenght BTW, and let you know.
EDIT: woops, no, '-' is not accepted, ... only keypad digits ...
