Read sql data in ms access

I want to query a callmanager for data such as number, name, pickup group membership, call forwarding settings.

I prefer reading the database in MS access.

For safety reasons I want to make a copy of the database before opening the database.

Which part of the database do I need to copy and how can I open it in MS access.

I would use SQL server utility DTS Import|Export.

Which data source and/or database should I select? Which database contains the directory number settings like pickup group membership, forwarding settings, phone type (7940, 7960) and alike?
