VLAN issue

Hi All,

I am having an issue with VLAN intercommunication.

Server1(Source)

Switch Model: 6509

Vlan 100

Server2 (Destination)

Switch Model: 6509

VLAN 200

The problem is I couldn't ping the server2 from serve1 for some time. After few minutes its start pinging...like this the connectivity is losing intermittently...am afraid why its happening.

Can some one shed a light on this to get rid off.

Thanks in Adv

Hi,

Can you paste your configuration? Did you check the port speed / duplex setting? Did you try another port or cable?

No enough information to determine the cause.

Rgds,

Sam

Hi,

Sorry bcz of security policy I couldn't post the config details. Please guide me how & which config I have to chk.

The Server1 having the port setting as

FULL 100/10

The Server2 having the port setting as

FULL 1000 1000BaseSX

You have to make sure the switchport settings match the hardcoded port speeds of your servers , they cant be left as auto .
