SFP Module (urgent)

Hi All,

I have a cisco Switch (3560 G), its connected to other device through the SFP port. Now , we are occasionally facing a link failure on the port, we noticed the fiber connector on the other device is asingle mode, while we are using a tranceiver to convert the fiber to Multimode.

My question is:

why is this happening?

Does the SFP support single mode fiber?

Is there any tips of connecting the tranceiver to the SFP port for convertion?

Appreciate any help,

You get different types of SFP's: SM, MM, Copper.

Wouldn't it be beter if you had the same type of SFP as your other device? (I am assuming it has a fixed connector).
