I wish to know the difference between LWAPP L2 and L3 transport mode. I am using L2 transport mode and its working fine. In what case we are suppose to use L3 mode
Converting from L2 to L3 will enable you to place the APs anywhere in the network. You can remove the APs from the physical ports on the WLC and plug them into your LAN switch.
