Hi to all,
I just wanted to know that if I have all fiber modules in a 4506 switch and the only UTP port that I have is a 10/100 management port on the Sup II plus, then what can I do to connect my laptop to a switch, telnet into it and upgrade the image if the need be? Is it possible.
The reason is that none of the fiber ports are connected and hence i need to use in some way the management port.
Thanks a lot
Gautam

If its hooked to a running network you would just telnet into , if it is just standalone uninstalled then you should be able to plug into that 10/100 mamanagent port and do it that way . You can also use the console port to configure the box to put an address and gateway on it if it needs that .

But what are the steps to configure a management port on the Sup II Plus?
I dont see the management port in the running config or sh ip int brief.
Thanks a lot
