Hello

And thank you for your assistance in previous questions.

Now my question is.

I am using several APs (AIR-AP1230) with antennas (AIR-ANT1728) in one floor.

Has it any effect on human health with its maximal power of 100mW, and if yes , how much is that (effect) ?

Thank you

Hi Narius,

Answer is no. These devices are designed in such a way so that it didnot leave any harm to human life.

But on contarary any exposer to radiation has bad effect on us. Even your mobile phone has radiation.

Thousand of AP are deployed in different enterprises and as if now we havent received any complain related to radiation.

So I will suggest you to go ahead and feel free to deploy these ap and enjoy wifi environment.

Regards,

kunal

Hi Narek,

This is an excellent question, that most of us have asked at one point. There is much conflicting information regarding the Health effects of "Wireless". It is good to be well versed on the subject and to realize that the bottom line truly is that this had not been studied for a long enough time frame for anyone to know the absolute truth. Here are some good example Pro/Con type articles;

"There is currently insufficient scientific basis for concluding either that wireless communication technologies are safe or that they pose a risk to millions of users.... FCC radio frequency radiation guidelines are based on protection from acute injury from thermal effects of RFR exposure and may not be protective against any non-thermal effects of chronic exposures."

Wireless Systems and RF Safety Issues

This document discusses the results of research into the possible health effects of RF devices.

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/wireless/ps430/products_white_paper09186a0080088791.shtml

All Cisco and Linksys wireless products are evaluated to ensure that they conform to the RF emissions safety limits adopted by agencies in the United States and around the world. These evaluations are in accordance with the various regulations and guidelines adopted or recommended by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC)* and other worldwide agencies**.

Compliance for these devices is typically based on the Maximum Permissible Exposure (MPE) levels for mobile or fixed devices*** or per Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) tests for portable**** devices. Depending on the type of product, compliance is based on modeling, technical analysis, or RF measurement testing. The analysis or testing is performed in accordance with the various national and international standards adopted by independent third-party accredited labs.

Before any wireless device can be placed on the market, Cisco submits MPE technical analysis or SAR test data results to the appropriate agencies for review. These studies and test reports must demonstrate that the devices meet the RF emissions safety limits, or they cannot be placed on the market. Cisco and Linksys make sure that all of their products adhere to the stricter standards imposed by the worst case-the uncontrolled environment that imposes the tightest compliance limits.

FWIW - We do have a large wireless deployment on our campus.

Exploring the Health Implications of Using Multiple AIR-AP1230 APs with AIR-ANT1728 Antennas"

Thank you for your previous assistance, and now, I have a question regarding the use of several APs (AIR-AP1230) equipped with antennas (AIR-ANT1728) on a single floor. These devices operate at a maximal power of 100mW, but is there any potential impact on human health, and if so, to what extent? Your insights on this matter would be greatly appreciated. #omiphycharity

consider that the peak power of a typical smartphone could be as much as 2000 mW (2 Watt)
