CCNP practice lab book

Answered Question
Feb 20th, 2007

Hi

I am curently learning for my CCIE. As I am reading the theory I would like to practice a little bit (as a good way to memorize the command lines that I may be asked about during the written test).

I think that "one topic oriented" labs would help me with this..so I am looking for a book or any reference to such lab exercises.

I believe a good CCNP lab book will do it but I am now aware of any.

If you know anything about such a book please let me know.

Thank you

Cristian

I have this problem too.

Hi,

Can I know where did you get the information that the scenarios cost $25 for S&H? The scenarios are delivered via PDF so there should not be any S&H cost at all. I "purchased" it last month and it was totally free.

Cisco Press also has practical studies books for all 4 CCNP tracks (old tracks though).

Since you're preparing for CCIE, perhaps you can purchase Internetwork Expert CCIE R&S workbook (http://www.internetworkexpert.com). In addition to the 20 multiprotocol labs, they've included over 200+ of technology labs for FREE. They also have a investment protection scheme which provides free upgrade to their products for a 2 years period as well.

Hi,

I agree that doing some labs would help you understand the theory better and allows you to practice the CLI for it.

Cisco Press has a series of hands on books called the CCNP Practical Studies. I haven't seen them yet so I can't tell you much about them.

Eg, the routing practical studies book:

http://www.ciscopress.com/bookstore/product.asp?isbn=1587200546&rl=1

Another option would be the IPExpert CCIE scenarios labs which are FREE. I believe they will build a good foundation in preparing for your lab.

"IPExpert CCIE scenarios labs which are FREE"

Not realy They are asking for 25$ for shipping and handling which may be the cost of a book. The difference is that for a book you can go in a store, browse it and buy it if you like it.

That is a good solution for routing. Thank you. Now I am looking for some good solutions for switching and the other topics

I created myself an account there and I went through the purchasing procedure.

At the last step I was presented a summary with my address, the billing address and options for shipping (quoted above).

The good bye message was saying that I was going to receive an email with the receipt.

I don't know how did you get the pdfs.

Please tell me if you had to follow the same procedure.

The only thing that I may blame myself for would pe not putting the real address there. The email was Ok and the name the same.

I don't like to give my personal details everyhere and if I have to choose I would rather not do it.

Thank you

Hi,

Don't worry about the shipping since it is a electronic based product.

As for accessing the PDF, firstly you login at the main website at www.ipexpert.com . Download the encryption plugin after you've logged in. After which, you go to "My eScenarios" page to access the FREE scenarios. Please note that you can only print the PDF once.
