Hi

Do you mean preserve the tagging on the packets going to your destination port ?

You can use the "encapsulation replicate" when you configure the destination port and this will preserve the vlan tags.

What version of IOS are you running on the 2960.

Hi

The previous post should answer your question. In my view "replicate" will preserve provided the IOS is compatable with the command.

Hi, Jon, thanks for your answer.

This is the scenario: I have a Cisco OSR (Cisco 7609 Version 12.2(18)SXF6), and it has several vlans configured.

I need to configure a span port in this OSR, and monitor just two of the vlans (100 and 101). This span port will be connected to a switch catalyst 2960, and then, in this second switch to configure two span ports, one of them will monitor vlan 100 and the other span port will monitor the other one vlan.

The OSR doesn't accept the command you sent yesterday.

could you help me with any suggestion?

thanks
