Cisco 11500 Series Content Switch - Host Header

I have a Cisco 11500 series content switch. I have a website that has multiple websites that use the same IP address but use host header to differenciate between the sites.

Can the content switch be configured to access a site by sitename (www1.xyz.com or www2.xyz.com) instead of by ip address?

You can specify URL name by following configurations

config)# owner customer

(config-owner[customer])# content gzip

(config-owner-content[gzip])# vip address 192.168.77.40

(config-owner-content[gzip])# protocol tcp

(config-owner-content[gzip])# port 80

(config-owner-content[gzip])# url "/*"

(config-owner-content[gzip])# add service server3

(config-owner-content[gzip])# active

NOw if you would share load between the servers you can configure that by following command

" dnsbalance roundrobin "

There is also more options aslo. Deafault is round robin load balancing.

If you have any queries please get back to me.

We will again seat resolve the same.
