customer is getting unity at new site. requirement to netwrok to their existing corporate octel vm systems.

The unity bridge server is recommended but can someone tell me what they gain by using the bridge vs. vpim or amis networking?

Thanks

Probably the best thing would be to look over the networking guides - the bridge networking guide can be found here:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/voicesw/ps2237/products_feature_guide_book09186a0080441979.html

VPIM is described in the general networking guide here:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/voicesw/ps2237/products_feature_guide_chapter09186a0080449aa1.html

short story is integration with an existing Octel network is going to be tighter and easier to setup with the bridge.

jeff;

can the octel name directory be imported into the unity directory or does it have ot be done manually?

thanks

Rob

check out this section in the bridge guide noted above:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/voicesw/ps2237/products_feature_guide_chapter09186a008045e21d.html#wp1084720

it talks about pushing the directory info into Unity which is what I think you're looking for.

jeff;

thanks -

says there can be up to 998 octel nodes -

is there any limit on number of bridge subscribers?

customer has 2 non-octel systems that use amis. can i use unity with amis for netwroking to these while using the bridge for the octel's?

thanks
