VLAN w/ It's own Gateway

I have two questions, my first is which switch do we need to migrate to? We currently run mostly HP 4000 series switches and I want to replace with a Cisco model with minimal network alterations...

In our current setup each VLAN has a separate IP and default gateway, I've noticed most of the newer switches have one default gateway. The issue at hand is that our DHCP server is giving IP addresses that only VLAN1 are supposed to get, VLAN2-6 are supposed to obtain separate IP addresses.

This leads to my second question; is this the best method? Thanks!

Only Cisco's 2960's have a single default gateway and that is manage the switch and the default gateway is actually on a separate l3 device. . Most of their switches are layer2/3 switches, 3750,4506,6509 etc.. and you can create as many vlans and SVI's as you want which gives each vlan its own default gateway .
