i have following QOS requirements
Class 1 EF 41% bw > LLC Queue (implemented with the priority command, not priority percent)
Class 2a AF31 30% bw > bandwidth percent 30
Class 2bAF41 20% bw > bandwidth percent 20
Class 3 best effort (remaining)
Link Capacity e.g 10G Ethernet
AF guarantees througput and low loss, EF low delay and jitter
My question is, do i need to police EF traffic or not? I beleive yes, because if EF allocates more bw than 41%, AF will probably tail droped. I dont want AF gets droped as long AF is below or equal the assigned bandwidth in my service policy

something to add to provide more information
On the core router, i connect severeal PE routers with 1G links. The agregated bw of all PE class 1 traffic could overload the total amount of reserved bw for Class 1 on that core box
This is a design question, maybe some other design engineers could provide me some feedback
TIA

Friend,
You may not need any additional policing. Priorit by deafault has policing integrated in to it, which comes in to play only when the link is congested. As long as link is free, priority ensures u get that min BW.
In any case, AF may not get taildropped due to EF.
