1. Erase the contents of the flash

2. Squeeze flash contents

squeeze flash:

(remember not to reload your router when you erase the flash, otherwise the router would go to rommon mode and you have to do a disaster recovery)

3. Upload the new IOS

4. Reload once upload is successful

I still receive the same error message at the same point in the copy. I executd the squeeze command and then ran a sh flash: and got this:

I have gotten this same output every time I erase the flash memory. It just continues to tank in the same exact spot. Thank you for your effort.

Please ensure that there are no files in the flash (not even marked deleted). Next, ensure that the laptop/workstation on which you have the tftp server does not go into standby mode and disbale the screen saver as well. Try a different tftp server.

I tried this procedure 2 times and failed both times in the same spot that it has been failing at. I have also tried different images and get the same results when the image size goes past the point where it fails. Thank you for trying.

Not sure why you wanted the slot0 and slot1 info, but you have it. Thank you for the try.

Mike, the flash on the router should be able to accomodate the image that you are trying to copy. I would again suggest trying a different tftp server, if you have't done that already.

I use tftpd32, and it resolves many such issues.

I have tried the tftp server you provided the link for. The download manages to crap-out at the same exact spot every time no matter what tftp server I use or how I try to erase/delete/squeeze the flash. Thank you for trying.

His problem is he cannot totally erase or squeeze the deleted IOS, therefore there is no room for him to install the same or new IOS.

If your router have a back-to-back maintenance with Cisco, you should contact them or your Vendor. Maybe send it for RMA, it could be a hardware problem.
