Hi,

I have 1841 router with WIC-2T. S0/0/0 is connected to Branch-A and is working properly. As soon as i connected second V35 cable to S0/0/1, my S0/0/0 link to the branch-A breaks and there is TTL expired response from S0/0/0 interface. The S0/0/1 is not yet active at other end. My config to serial link is below.

interface Serial0/0/0

ip address 10.1.1.1 255.255.255.252

ip helper-address 10.116.2.5

!

interface Serial0/0/1

ip address 10.1.2.1 255.255.255.252

clock rate 2000000

What could be the reason.?

Regards

SK

Don't connect the cable on a working router. Switch of the router and then connect the new cable and establish connection.

I did that but it works for sometime and then suddenly the s/0/0/0 link goes down.

Well can u attach the show interfaces log when the links are up. Also do collect logs from the console "show log" and attach the output here.

you may need to add or tweak the network clock participate command.
