Need Help with Translation Pattern

We have successfully created Translation Patterns based on the last 4 digits of the DID number. One of the DID numbers is 555-9126. For incoming calls, this works just fine.

We just tried to dial out to 91262XXXXXXX in the 262 area code and the Translation Pattern immediately kicks in after dialing 9126 and the call is routed internally and never goes to the external number.

How do we get CCM to wait until the entire number is dialed before applying the translation pattern?

One solution would be to put this translation pattern in a separate partition. Give the incoming gateway a calling search space which contains the partition and leave the partition out of the calling search space used by phones. This will allow incoming calls to hit the translation pattern and outgoing calls to bypass it.

Hope this helps. If so, please rate the post.

You could also change your prefix digit. Use a 7 instead of a 9. Could save you from 911 misdials later on too.

We thought about that when we did our initial rollout, but decided against it. We are able to monitor 911 calls and our people have been surprisingly careful. Thanks for the suggestion!

We created a separate partition and it works great! Thanks for that suggestion!
