Getting clock or timezone via SNMP?

BRIAN LANDERS

I'm hoping this is an easy question, but I've done quite a bit of Googling without success.

Is there any way to read an IOS or CatOS device's current clock and/or timezone using SNMP? Not the uptime, but the actual clock value.

We're in the middle of auditing all our devices to make sure we're solid for the upcoming DST changes and I'd rather not telnet (scripted or otherwise) to 500+ devices.

TIA.

This is not possible for IOS devices. For CatOS devices that are running as NTP clients, you can get the current timezone by polling the ntpGrp from the CISCO-STACK-MIB. Polling

CISCO-STACK-MIB::ntpSummerTimezoneName.0 and

CISCO-STACK-MIB::ntpTimezoneName.0 will give you the available timezones. Then poll CISCO-STACK-MIB::ntpSummertimeStatus.0 to determine whether or not the Summer timzeone is enabled.
