Static NAT Mappings and Xlate table PIX515E 6.3.5

Hello all, need help here. I configure an one to one NAT for a local machine in my LAN needing a publick IP as:

static (inside,outside) 63.x.x.37 10.8.2.57 netmask 255.255.255.255 0 0

When I check the machines public IP it comes up with one public IP picked from my global pool. I know that the assigned public IP I am using is not part of my global NAT pool. The Machine has a static LAN IP so I know is not picking up a different DHCP address and it is confirmed by ipconfig /all.

PIX515E# show xlate | inc 10.8.2.57

Global 63.x.x.165 Local 10.8.2.57

What would be the conditions the static NAT would not map to the local IP. Is there a way I could clear the Xlate global without any negative impact.

Thanks

Jorge

I have this problem too.

Hi Jorge

You can clear just the individual translation ie.

clear xlate global 63.x.x.165

Be aware that any other mappings to 63.x.x.165 will also be removed.

Jon, you were right on.

I ensure no other mappings were bound to 63.x.x.165 , I issued your reommended xlate global and the issue was resolved. The 10.8.2.57 got the right public IP.

Thank you ,

Jorge
