when trying to poll the start up configuring using LMS version 2.6 it gives a partiual suucess message. Where the error is showing as

CM0208: user not authorized to perform the opertaion on device.

but i have provided the telnet password and enable password as the credentials. (wich are correct) but still its providing me with the same error message. Please advice.

Can you check the following:

Common Services->Server->Security->Multi-Server Trust Management->System Identity Setup

Is the System Identity user configured?

Is there a file named "comUser.dat" in ?

Is LMS integrated with ACS?

thanks....the error was coming because i did not provide the credentials of telnet password and enable password on my core switch device....and all my edge switch is connected to the core switch.

But still i have some problem with one of the switches again ...when i try to fetch the configuration..it gives me partial success. The error that shows me is that it was not able to archive....please advice...thnaks for the eariler one..
