Meeting Place Express joining a meeting after 30 plus minutes

Meeting Place Express question version 1.1.2.150

I have a customer that just put in Meeting Place Express. Typically they schedule meetings and don?t join for over 30~40 min late and when they try to join the meeting has ended. I did a test both with not calling into a meeting and with calling in and then disconnecting. Both conferences ended after 30 minutes so it appears it is either a setting I can change or that is just the way it is. Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks,

Hi Andy,

It sounds like you are running into the "Default Meeting Length" setting. Have a look;

Default length of meeting (minutes)

Default length of meetings, in minutes. In the Schedule Meeting page of the profiled user, this is the default value that appears in the Duration field. This field also applies to reservationless meetings.

Restriction: This number cannot exceed the value entered in the Maximum meeting length (minutes) field.

Recommendation: Consider meeting lengths typically conducted by your company and users.

Range: 5 to 1440

**Default: 30

Maximum meeting length (minutes)

Maximum length of a meeting, in minutes. Specifically:

Users cannot schedule meetings longer than this number of minutes.

Reservationless meetings end after this number of minutes.

Recommendation: Consider length of typical meetings for your company and users.

Range: 30 to 1440

Default: 240

From this good doc;

Hope this helps!

Good advice Rob!

Unfortunately though Andy's problem is a little different. There is a defualt setting that if no one attends a meeting with in the first 10 minutes of the scheduled start time the meeting will end.

Not sure where the setting can be changed but that is definately what is happening in your case.

Thank you for your responce!! The doc will come in handy. In regards to the default lengh of the meeting it is set to 30 minutes however when I do the test meetings the meetings themselves do show the duration for an hour but if no one attends in 30 minutes the meeting ends. The customer wants the meeting to stay up for the entire hour even if the first caller dosen't join until 50 minutes after the start tiem. The Maximum meeting length is 720 minutes so there won't be a problem upping it if need be however the customer likes that the default is 30 minutes.

Does anyone know if its even possable to do what they are trying to do?

Thanks,
