i will need to implement only 5 wireless access points for my company meeting rooms.i have thought to implement Cisco Aironet 1240AG to operate

as an autonomus AP.considering the fact that my catalyst 2950-24 concentrated in one catalyst 6506 does not support POE i will use the power supply

will i encounter any kind of problem if the WLAN controller will not be used

Hi Mehmet,

For 5 AP's you don't need the WLC at all. To run these in Autonomous mode will work just fine! For power options you could also use power injectors if there is no A/C outlet near the AP mounting location;

Cisco Aironet Power Injector (AIR-PWRINJ3) Cisco Aironet power injectors use the power supply that is available with Cisco Aironet 1240AG Series access points.

From this good AP1240 Guide

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/ps6521/products_qanda_item0900aecd8031c8dc.shtml

Also, don't forget antennas;

Antennas for both 2.4-GHz and 5-GHz radios are available and must be ordered separately. High-gain omnidirectional, narrow-beam directional, diversity, and nondiversity antennas are available for both operating bands.

For more information on antenna options, visit:

Hope this helps!

Rob
