For CCM 5.1.1, how can I local login (or remote desktop, or VNC) to the server to access C drive do the MoH source file upload etc.

Also, for internal voice lab 192.x.x.x (no connection to production network 10.x.x.x), what basics configurations that are needed to set up a CCM-Pub, 2900 switch, and two 7960 IP phones to call from one phone to another.

Thanks

LX is the OS and CCM.5.1 is an appliance and is locked down. To download updates and patches it is done through CLI and SFTP. no remote desktop SecureCRT and or VPN and browse in. I would recommend reading up on CCM 5.1 SRND and the Install guide. There is not enough time or space on this thread to walk you through Installing.

Hi Denming,

Here is some info related to cli access etc;

Starting a CLI Session

You can access the Cisco IPT Platform CLI remotely or locally:

From a web client workstation, such as the workstation that you use for Cisco IPT Platform Administration, you can use SSH to connect securely to the Cisco IPT Platform.

You can access the Cisco IPT Platform CLI directly by using the monitor and keyboard that you used during installation or by using a terminal server that is connected to the serial port. Use this method if a problem exists with the IP address.

Before You Begin

Ensure you have the following information that gets defined during installation:

A primary IP address and hostname

An administrator ID

A password

You will need this information to log in to the Cisco IPT Platform.

Perform the following steps to start a CLI session:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Step 1 Do one of the following actions depending on your method of access:

From a remote system, use SSH to connect securely to the Cisco IPT Platform. In your SSH client, enter

ssh adminname@hostname

where adminname specifies the Administrator ID and hostname specifies the hostname that was defined during installation.

For example, ssh admin@ipt-1.

From a direct connection, you receive this prompt automatically:

ipt-1 login:

where ipt-1 represents the host name of the system.

Enter the administrator ID that was defined during installation.

In either case, the system prompts you for a password.

Step 2 Enter the password that was defined at installation.

The CLI prompt displays. The prompt represents the Administrator ID; for example:

admin:

You can now use any CLI command.

To apply patches you can put the update file in a ftp or sftp server (the file is usually a signed binary image) and go to Platform Administration web interface - > Software upgrades and specify the file name, ip address of ftp/sftp server, username and password and the image should be pulled down from the server. You can also burn the image into a dvd media and place it locally on the server. You can select the method of upgrade as DVD/CD, instead of ftp server in this case.

Thanks dconstantino. I will check them out.

The CCM 5.1.1 pub is installed and running. Just need to do some configurations and get the phone to call each other and to test some features, like MOH, etc.

(This is internal test lab, no production network connection is needed now)

Thanks

To upload a moh file, there is a menu item under Media resources called MOH file management

This works.

> How about CCM 5.1.1 OS and patch update?

It seems CLI is not working. Any Cisco doc pointing to how to use CCM 5.1.1 CLI?

Thanks Sankar and Everyone for the help.
