Hi,

I am hoping someone might beable to help me out here. I bought a couple of used 2500 routers to use in hopes of learning some about them. The problem is I do not have their IP addresses, how do I get into the setup files and such. As always all and any help is greatly appreciated in this.

I have this problem too.

Hi, m.j.

On the rear side of 2500 router, there is a port marked as "console", find a roll-over console cable to connect the console port to the com port of your PC.

Open the hypertermial and set the following parameters:

buad rate:9600

databits:8

parity:none

stop bit:1

flow control: none

Then you should be able to configure the router.

I'm looking for some webpages for your reference. I will post them later.

[edit]:Ok, only find this page for catalyst switches, but I think they are almost the same.
