FRR and SSO: design question

Unanswered Question

Hi folks,

I've a design question about

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/iosswrel/ps1829/products_feature_guide09186a0080264560.html#wp1359897

I see that on IOS 12.2 train FRR is not supported with two supervisor in SSO.

my design requirements are:

- 6500 with new modular IOS (12.2 train)

- SSO, because I'll have to implement ISSU

- something to use, in a MPLS environment, a backup tunnel (the 6500 is connected to ONS 15454; I've a primary route on p2p ethernet SDH, and a backup route on RPR ring, if the primary fails I've to use the backup).

My idea is to use the 6500 with SSO, and implement MPLS and FRR on ONS (if possible). In that case I'll have a 6500 PE and the ONS P on the MPLS cloud. But if there's another solution supporting an infrastructure with ONS device only for optical trasport, please let me know.

Any advice will be appreciated

Regards

Andrea

I have this problem too.

I think the FRR feature is available in an older version 12.0. Using feature navigator tool you can search for the specific IOS that matches your requirements.
