Solved: Link State and its routing metric

I am sure that link-state uses cost (108 / bandwidth) as its routing metric.

I have been in a discussion that link-state uses delay and load , reliability in its routing metric as well (i disagreed).

I could not find solid authenticated document for proof through my search. Yes I found document to proof that link-state uses cost.

Any comment ?

if you are talking about OSPF then yes it uses cost as it metric with the bandwidth as the variable factor.

Delay and load are two of the metrics used by IGRP/EIGRP.

Hi

IGRP/EIGRP uses 4 characteristics to determine the metric of a route

1) bandwidth

2) delay

3) load

4) reliability

By default the 2 that are used in the route metric calcultaion are bandwidth and delay.

I thought mistakenly, that you was talking about other link-state protocols, therefore i asked like what ?

Oops, my mistake. No i was just referring to OSPF when talking about link state.
