LMS2.5 problems

This might be a duplicate, if it is, sorry.

This is an extension of another post I?ve already posted here:

http://forums.cisco.com/eforum/servlet/NetProf?page=netprof&CommCmd=MB%3Fcmd%3Ddisplay_location%26location%3D.1dddb635

But I have a few more things to add. The replies that I got last time were to upgrade LMS2.5 to LMS2.6. I'm not able to do that at the moment due to management, so hopefully we can figure out what?s wrong.

RME issues:

I am having problems with basically every part of RME.

1. The archive management job that runs on a daily basis floods its log with a message similar to "Device xxxx not in RME database" (I cant find the log right now that I was looking at earlier).

2. RME-> Devices -> Inventory -> View Inventory Collection Status:

Blank screen

3. RME-> Config Mgmt -> NetConfig > NetConfig Jobs

When trying to schedule a new job:

Going from step 2 to step 3 (scheduling):

Error occured while getting default policies. Possible Cause: Failed to get the default policies

4. Server Admin> Job Browser> Click on SysInvPoller job, get the following error:

ICSU0024: DB Exception. Check ICServerUI.log for more details. See User Guide for Resource Manager Essentials 4.0 for the log file location.

Log file says:

[ Mon Mar 05 11:18:27 CST 2007 ],ERROR,[Ajp13Processor[9009][3]],ICSU0005: Cannot display job details. Make sure that RME DB Service is running.

ICSException :: JZ006: Caught IOException: com.sybase.jdbc2.jdbc.SybConnectionDeadException: JZ0C0: Connection is already closed.

----- output omitted for length ----

I?ve looked through quite a few logs, and one message seems to appear in quite a few of the logs:

?com.sybase.jdbc2.jdbc.SybConnectionDeadException: JZ0C0: Connection is already closed?

The process is trying to access the database on a connection that?s already closed. Could this be a ?symptom? of something wrong with the Database? I have verified that the RMEdbEngine process is running. This is an out-of-the-box setup, and I?m currently not able to do any patching to it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

LMS 2.5 has a lot of bugs and issues, you should at least upgrade to LMS 2.5.1, just download and apply on the server. Trust me, on LMS 2.5.1 LMS will function way better. Even more after LMS 2.5.1 is succesful, you can even go to LMS 2.6 if you wish.
