I have an BladeCenter switch that I need to remove the ip address from. When I try the no ip address cmd, I get an error message that says vlan 1 cannot be removed. We use "out-of-band" management on vlan 211 instead. Any ideas ?
Thank you!

Hi,
The normal VLAN 1 can never be removed.
if there is an IP address on the VLAN 1 you need to go to:
#interface vlan 1
#no ip address
Otherwise you need to do
#no interface vlan 1

Could u copy paste the error to us?
I dont know if u already have the 211 Active and Working, or if u want to replace the management vlan on that switch.
Configure another ip reacheble on vlan 211, and then try to do the "management" command in the Vlan 211.
Vlan 1 should stay clear for remove ip address, i guess.
Dont realy remember if it works. If it the case, try it, and tell us how it works.

Hi
As suggested by previous poster you need to configure vlan 211 and apply an IP address to that interface. Then you should be able to remove the address off vlan 1.
Is this what you have done ?
