I'm running Ciscoworks 2.5.1 with RME 4.0.4 on Windows Server 2003 SP1.
On numerous Cat3500s and Cat4500s the software management in RME will successfully load the new IOS image and update the bootvar, but will always fail to reboot with the error code WIM5006: Device Reboot operation failed.
The device is not configured for reboot. The SNMP Write Community string might be wrong.
The command SNMP server system shutdown should be in the running configuration on the device.
However when I go to RME - Devices - Device Management - Device Credential Verification the test always succeeds.
I have tried modifying the RME SNMP timeout values, changing the SNMP timeout to 50 seconds and the SNMP retry to 4. From the same system I can always run snmpwalk on these devices with the same read-write string.
The errors from the full SWIM log are below, any help would be appreciated.

Do you have the configuration command:
snmp-server system-shutdown
Configured on your devices? This command is required to be able to reload a device via SNMP.

Thanks, that was the problem.
