Hi,
Is there a way to test DNS and WWW from the 800 series ADSL router using the BV interface as your source?
Am I right in saying that what ever I test using the BV as the source would be the same as testing it as if I had a PC on the router and the router using NAT?

You can test connectivity by doing:
ping x.x.x.x source BVI1
Assuming that you have a dns server set on the router, you could do the following:
ping www.google.com source BVI1 - Test DNS
telnet www.google.com 80 /source-interface BVI1 - Test WWW/DNS
The telnet will not give you much of anything, but it'll make a connection or not. You should also be able to look at your NAT translations to verify if that BVI1 ip address was properly translated.
Good luck.

Thanks,
I did that already when i configured the router. Was wondering if there was another way to do this.
Would the test be the same as doing it from the PC on the network?

As far as NAT is concerned this should be the same as using a PC.
You will need to verify that the PC is in the same VLAN as this BVI, and the the PC has it's default GW set as the BVI.
