DND issue with CME 4.0 and a 7940 Phone

I keep having a reoccurring problem with my CME and a 7940 phone. The phone keeps going into DND mode and will not allow anyone to use it. When DND is enabled we cannot remove it. There is no way to get it out of DND on the phone. The only way we can fix it is by deleting the ephone and add it again.


The weird thing is I only have one template on this router.

The phone has two ext assigned to it. The main one and then a ? Sales ext ?, this is basicly 6 exts in a hunt group.

What phone load? Can you check/upgrade and try again ?

5.0(6) is quite old, can you upgrade to 7.2(4) or 8.0(5) and try again ?

We had the same issue, it's not just happening but your users are hitting the DND button in ringing mode. Your softkeys need "softkeys Ringing answering" added to the bottom of your list. If you don't have the softkey answering you have an older verision of the IOS and you need to cut on FAC codes and then just tell the user to pickup the phone and dial **7 and it will take the phone off DND.
