We have a large site that has been subnetted into 7 physical segments. Each segment is connected to a port on the 3750 and a stack of 3 Nortel baystack 470-48T switches. (3 switches backplaned to form 1 96 port switch) via multi-mode fiber. We are trying to eliminate AppleTalk from the network, since it is a school and has almost 400 Macintosh systems, however we are no longer able to print across subnets due to the fact that Appletalk is not routeable on the 3750.
Is it possible to configure a multicast vlan that includes ports 1/0/1 thru 1/0/7 and will route mDNS or another multicast service on HP printers? We can not depend on IP printing because of some specific software products.
Any help would be appriciated!
