Hi You can manipulate the metric of RIP v2 with the help of Offset-List command. syntax is as below: You can increase the metric of a route

offset-list {access-list-number | name} {in| out} offset [type number]

If u need more clarification do let me know.

It it helps do rate this post.

Thanks

Hi Gavin

If i understand correctly yes you can offset routes learned from RIP.

Attached is a link covering this.

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/ps6441/products_command_reference_chapter09186a00804a71e6.html#wp1126354

These commands apply to both RIPv1 and RIPv2.

My question was related to applying offset lists to routes learned from a particular source.

Say my RIP routes are learned from two different devices:

172.22.152.129

and

192.168.50.60

So these are my routing information sources.

Can I apply an offet to increase the metric learned via the 192.168.50.60 router?

Thanks

Gavin

Gavin

Yes, you can apply the offset list against an interface so you would apply it inbound on the interface that connects to the subnet that the 192.168.50.60 router is on.
