I have a 6509 with the fan light set to RED and 2 fans are not spinning anymore. I would like to know what command can I run that would show me this failure and anything related to the power supplies.

There's a series of options under the:

SHOW ENVIRONMENT cli command

SHOW ENVIRONMENT ALL

SHOW ENVIRONMENT POWER

SHOW ENVIRONMENT COOLING

Should give you what you need

The output of the command I think supports the users observation. Under Fan status you can see a fail. If this in fact the case, what is involved in replacement?

lclsmplgrvb> (enable) sh environment all

If you have Support with Cisco, just call in a TAC case and they'll send a new one with an RMA for the old. If you don't have support you'll have to order 1

That is a sweet CLI command!! Thank you.

Are these fan assemblies hot swappable? and is there any cisco documentation that outlines the process of removal/install?

Your power supplies look like they're operating normally

Environmental Status (. = Pass, F = Fail, U = Unknown, N = Not Present)

PS = Power Supply

. = passed

I need to know if any downtime is required.

If you have traps turned on it should also show in the log .
