6509 Replacement or UPGRADE?

HI Guys,

I have a couple of 6509s that was acquired year 1999. According to the docs, mtbf of machine is 7 years. So it's due for replacement.

Now, i'm thinking why not upgrade the boxes instead of getting the same model replacement which i expect to be end-of-sale, end-of-life in a few years time?

So my question is, is getting a 6509-E as upgrade to my 6509s a good decision at this time?

Would appreciate to hear pros and cons from anybody.

Thanks!

I think that 6509 has already reached end of sale, however you may get a replacement for that. As for comparison between 6509 and 6509E following links may help.

Hello,

Older 6509 Chassis is already EOL and EOS. I would encourage you to go for 6509E which has enhanced bachplane capacity and support for new hardware. Please find the link below for more info:

HTH,please rate if it does.
