Hi All,
I am facing some issues with WS-X4148-RJ45V module in one of my Catalyst 4500 chassis.
Problem Description
----------------------------
One 4500 chassis contains 2-numbers of WS-X4148-RJ45V modules and 1- number of WS-X4248-RJ45V module. The 4248 module is working fine whereas the module 4148 is supplying power only to 10 IP phones (approx). The ?sh environment power? command shows power status as unknown for 4148 module.
CatoS running on this Chasis is 8.4(10)GLX

Note:- This customer has another 4148 module on a differentr 4500 chasis where it is running CatOS 8.1(1) ,on this chassis 4148 module is perfectly working fine.
We cannot downgrade the chassis where we are facing the power issue to 8.1 because the module 4248 is not supported on version 8.1
Pls let me know if you need any more inputs in resolving this case.
Cheers

Hoogen,
How many IP phones are connected to the module that in question? What is the model of the IP phones that are connected to the module. If they are cisco IP phones try the following:
Try the following
set inlinepower defaultallocation 6000
then change it to
set inlinepower defaultallocation 6300
see if that helps.

Hi
Thanks for you suggestion will try that out. Well i am trying to populate the whole 48 port module. But after 10 phones it wont add up any more. All are Cisco Ip phones. Any idea why it shows unknown but still works for 10 ip phones. Also before upgrade this modules were working just fine. I checked up several times and cisco seems to confirm that everything is fine with IOS support.
Any help is good.
