hi:

i have the following senario:

i have H.Q that consists from the following info:

1. extenation number 8xxx

2. CM5.x

3. PRI link on the 3845 gateway with 1000 DID number with prefix 666

two Branch sites:

branch 1:

1. extention number 7xxx

2. gateway 2811 with SRST enable

3. 2 analog line FXOs

4. phone line number for FXO: 111111,222222

branch 1:

1. extention number 6xxx

2. gateway 2811 with SRST enable

3. 2 analog line FXOs

4. phone line number for FXO: 333333,444444

the connection between the branches and HQ is hub and spoke

my point is when the Wan link is failed between branch 1 and HQ , how can i configure the branch1 gateways to perform an inbound and outbound call both branch 2 and HQ do i need dial-plan pattern or translation pattern, i have some confusion to use them and what is the best configuration for this senario.

thanks

Since the branch sites do not have PRIs nor DID circuits, only FXOs you will not be able to reach different extension, you will be able to direct all incoming calls on the FXO lines to a particular destination by using "connection plar XXXX" on the voice-port.

For outbound calling you will need to create POTS dial-peers potinting to the FXO trunks.

In order to reach the other sites while in SRST you have following options:

1. use num-exp, such as "num-exp 7... 915551237..." which then will match an outbound LD dial-peer

2. Use dial-peers, such as:

dial-peer 7000 pots

destination-pattern 7...

prefix 15551237

3. Use voice translation rule, such as:

voice transaltion-rule 1

rule 1 /^7/ /915551237/

voice translation-profile 1

translate called 1

and apply this rule under call-manager-fallback

thank very much for information;

let us use the option 2, and please correct me if i am wrong:

dial-peer 7000 pots

destination-pattern 7...

prefix 15551237

for example if i called 7001 on the HQ it will be converted to 15551237001 and as i used DID at the HQ it will converted to 7001 by the PSTN or by the CallManger by stripping the prefix part

but my second point is if i need to call the other branches such as branch 2 which have the following info:

1. extention number 6xxx

2. gateway 2811 with SRST enable

3. 2 analog line FXOs

4. phone line number for FXO: 333333,444444

can i used the following configuration:

dial-peer voice 6000 pots

destination-pattern 6...

translate-outgoing called 1

port 0/2/1

translation-rule 1

Rule 1 ^6... 333333

thanks
