ping problem

cfajardo1_2

Level 1

scenario:

vlans(Main)--router(Main)--15 branches(frame-relay)

Findings;

1. all of the branches except that of branch 15 are working fine.

2. branch 15 is having 2 vlans (A and B). Vlan A could ping a server in Main whereas a machine in Vlan B will only have a successful reply after more than a minute of pinging. Everything will be fine after the successful ping. This is happenning every morning or after a night long idle.

any idea/help is appreciated.

thanks

What switch are you using in the 15th branch? Could you post your config. At the face of it you might have a default gateway configured on your switch. If possible enable ip route and check.

def gateway is there pointing to the router..the switch is a layer 3 3com.

Are you using something similar to a static route pointing to the router or given a default-gateway statement.

Use a static default route. It might help out.
